I designed this chess set as part of an assignment for a sophomore studio class. The only prompt we were given for the assignment was: "design a product that nests."

All of the chess pieces fit within each other, resulting in a very compact method of storage.

The main obstacle I ran into while working on this project was preserving each piece's unique visual identity as I reduced them to their most basic defining elements.
